Renting a balcony is the most comfortable way to watch the Running of the Bulls: you see the herd from above, away from the crowd, usually with breakfast included. It is also the most expensive. For 2027, one long-established agency quotes €175–€300 per person, depending on the street and the floor, and the best balconies sell out months in advance.
What is usually included
- Your place on the balcony for the run, typically for a set number of people per balcony.
- Coffee and pastries or a light breakfast while you wait.
- A TV inside the flat to follow the rest of the run and watch the replays.
- Arrival around 7:00 am. The street is closed off before the run, so hosts give you a precise time and access point.
You only see the stretch of street below your balcony — usually a few seconds of the herd passing. The TV fills in the rest.
Which street to choose
Calle Estafeta is the classic choice: the longest straight of the course, narrow enough that the action feels very close. The Estafeta corner is the most spectacular point, where bulls skid into the barrier, and balconies there are among the most sought-after. The Town Hall square offers a wider view and the historic façade. Mercaderes and Santo Domingo are shorter stretches where the bulls run very fast. How to book
- Book early. Many people book in winter for the following July, especially for weekend mornings.
- Book directly with an established agency or the owner, and ask for the exact address and floor.
- Read the cancellation terms. Refunds typically shrink as the festival approaches. One agency, for example, refunds 75% before April 1, 50% in April, 25% in May and nothing from June.
- Confirm the details: how many people per balcony, arrival time, what is included and whether children are allowed.
Is it worth the money?
If you want to see the bulls up close without the crowd, yes — especially for a special occasion. If you are on a budget, the bullring gives you a great atmosphere for €7–€12 (2025 prices), and every bar in the Old Town shows the run on TV.
Avoid the scams
Be wary of offers on social media or classified ads asking for a full payment by bank transfer to a private account. Use well-known agencies, pay with methods that offer protection and keep written confirmation of what you have booked.
