Most of San Fermín is free: the Chupinazo, the bull runs seen from the street, the Giants and Big-Heads, the procession, the fireworks and nine days of party in the street. What makes the trip expensive is accommodation, by far, and then the extras: a balcony, the bullfight, eating out three times a day. Here are real prices and three daily budgets so you can plan.
The short answer
- On a tight budget: around 100–150 € per person per day, sleeping outside Pamplona or in a hostel.
- Mid-range: around 200–300 € per person per day, in a shared hotel room or apartment.
- Comfortable: 400 € or more per person per day, sleeping in the Old Town and adding a balcony or the bullfight.
Travel to Pamplona is not included. These are estimates built from the prices below; your total depends above all on where you sleep.
Accommodation: the big expense
Prices in Pamplona multiply during the festival. In our own search for July 6–8, 2027 (two nights, two adults, Old Town), the hotels and apartments shown on the map cost between about 890 € and 1,900 € in total: roughly 220–475 € per person per night. And that was nine months in advance.
- Old Town: the most convenient and the most expensive.
- Ensanche and San Juan: a 10–20 minute walk, somewhat cheaper.
- Burlada, Villava or other nearby towns: cheaper, with extra buses during the festival.
- San Sebastián: about an hour by bus, an option if Pamplona is full.
- Hostels: a bed in a dormitory usually costs between 60 € and 100 € a night during the festival.

Watching the bull run: from free to 400 €
- From the street (double fence): free, but you need to arrive very early.
- Bullring seats: in 2025 a ticket cost 12 € on the busiest days and 7 € the rest (4 € for children under 12).
- A balcony on the route: roughly 175–300 € per person with established agencies, and up to 400 € or more on Estafeta with breakfast.
Pros and cons of each option in where to watch the running of the bulls, and how to book in renting a balcony.
The bullfight
Tickets for the afternoon bullfights range from about 10 € in the upper sunny stands to more than 150 € for the best shaded seats. Most tickets belong to season-ticket holders, so availability for visitors is limited; resale prices are usually much higher than official ones.
Food and drink
Eating at San Fermín can be cheap or expensive depending on how you do it:
- Pintxos: the cheapest way to eat well, a few euros each.
- Restaurant lunch: many places offer San Fermín set menus; expect festival prices, especially near Estafeta and Plaza del Castillo.
- Drinks: kalimotxo, beer and wine at the bar, and bottles shared in the street.
- Churros at La Mañueta after the bull run: a cheap classic.

The outfit
A full white and red outfit costs roughly 25–45 € in Pamplona; a neckerchief or sash on its own, a few euros. Or bring white clothes from home. More in what to wear to San Fermín.
Three sample daily budgets (per person)
- Tight (100–150 €): hostel bed or room outside Pamplona, bus into the city, pintxos and shared drinks, everything free from the street.
- Mid-range (200–300 €): shared hotel room or apartment in the Ensanche, one sit-down meal a day, bullring seats for one run.
- Comfortable (400 € or more): hotel in the Old Town, restaurant meals, a balcony one morning and a bullfight ticket.
How to save money
- Book accommodation now. Prices go up as the festival gets closer, and the cheapest options go first.
- Avoid July 6–7 and the weekend (July 10–11 in 2027) if you can: they are the most expensive nights.
- Sleep outside Pamplona and use the extra buses.
- Enjoy the free events: almost everything that matters is.
- Eat pintxos two or three streets away from the busiest areas.
